puerto rico

the saga did not go without a 'hitch' . . .

Driving into San Juan from the airport

Our hotel in Caguas

First things first - blood tests required in Puerto Rico for a

marriage license.  Luckily, it looked much friendlier inside.

It was about 85 degrees every day, so we hung out

by the pool a couple of afternoons after jumping

through bureaucratic hoops.

This clock was in Palmer Plaza.  Kurt attempted to match the

dour expressions of those on the clock.

We met a very helpful policeman who spoke excellent English.

Then we found out he was originally from "Joisey."

Our visit to the Observatorio de Arecibo - the world's largest radio telescope.

"requiered"?????

I think Big Foot has a pair of these.

One of the 3 support columns

Finally, after much red tape

the wedding was on Thursday, December 18

Our witnesses, Shirley and Yamelis

A done deal!

Champagne, of course!

The judge from Caguas gave us fatherly advice

The ONE time I drove the rental car . . .

Old San Juan - a very cool graveyard

And a fortress

All buildings were painted in pastel colors.  They must think our buildings are really boring!

This was after Liquor 43.  No, we didn't drink 43 liquors -

that's the actual name of it!

The trees bloomed - beautiful!

I hurt my hand on a guard rail :-(

A pelican celebrity

What can I say ??

We ate seafood overlooking the ocean.

OK, I had a steak . . .

Hanging out at the beach

All dogs love Kurt.

One last visit to Taco Maker

Miranda!  There's an avenue named after you

that leads to a Medical Center!

And they lived happily ever after -
