The HazCom ACT

The 69th Legislature of the State of Texas, in 1985, enacted the Texas Hazard Communication Act.

The overall purpose of this Act is to protect employees who handle hazardous materials while on the job.

The Texas Hazard Communications Act (revised 1993), codified as Chapter 502 of the Texas Health and Safety Code, requires public employers to provide employees
with specific information on the hazards of chemicals to which employees may be exposed in the workplace.
