Grades:  You will have 3 practicals as scheduled above and 7 weekly quizzes (weekly quizzes cannot be made-up; however you can drop your lowest 2 quiz grades).  Quizzes will be administered at the beginning of each lab and will cover material from both the previous lab and the current day’s lab.  You may make up only one Lab Practical at the end of the semester (it will consist of 10 very challenging questions—so avoid missing a Lab Practical).  The lab grade is the average of 4 grades (three Practicals and the weekly quiz average).  This final lab average will be given to the lecture instructor and will be one-fourth (1/4) of your final grade for the Biology 121 course.

Make-ups will not be given any other days than what is listed above.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  It is your responsibility to speak to your instructor in advance to schedule a time to make up a Practical.  DO NOT DEPEND ON EMAILS:  MAKE ARRANGEMENTS IN PERSON WITH YOUR INSTRUCTOR.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: Class roll will be administered immediately after class begins.  I will report the absences to the lecture instructor when an excess of absences has been attained (3 times).
Note:  Last Day to Drop a Class – APRIL 1.

You must attend the lab section that you registered for.  In special circumstances, arrangements can be made for you to attend a different lab section.  Because lab space is limited, you are not guaranteed a chance to make up any lab that you miss.  The only way you can make up labs is by attending another BIOL 121 lab that is scheduled during the same week .  Drop-ins will not be admitted.  You must make prior arrangements with the instructor of that particular lab time before attending a different lab than the one you are normally scheduled for.
