Touring Washington and the East Coast
Some of the best times you will have while interning in Washington, D.C. will be the time you have to visit the many museums, monuments, theaters and other attractions in D.C and around the east coast. To list all the attractions and events here would be too difficult.
On weekends, don't miss out on some great day trips to other East coast destinations. To learn more about other events and sites, we suggest you visit your local bookstore and pick up a travel guide for Washington, D.C.. They usually run about $12-15 and encompass all the attractions in the Washington area. It's worth the investment--remember, most tourist attractions in Washington, D.C. are free!
Before you begin to try to get tickets to tour popular places like the White House, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the FBI, the Library of Congress, or other major tourist destinations, ask the Staff Assistant in your office if they can help you get special tickets or a congressional tour.
