General Information
On April 4th-6th, 2013, Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas and the Texas Physics Consortium (TPC) will host the Spring 2013 Joint Meeting of the Texas Sections of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT), the American Physical Society (APS), and Zone 13 of the Society of Physics Students (SPS). This will be a general meeting. Contributed papers from any area of physics are welcomed and encouraged. However, areas of emphasis for the meeting include Astronomy and Space Science, Innovations in Physics Teaching, Undergraduate and High School Student Research, Applications of Accelerators, and Medical Physics. Most of the sessions and workshops will be held in the Science Building. The Friday lunch will be held in the Tarleton Banquet Hall in the Thompson Center. Business meetings of the Texas Sections of the AAPT and the APS will immediately follow the Friday lunch. A banquet will also be held on Friday evening at City Hall Banquet facility on the East Side of Stephenviile on Business 377 (same as previous conferences). A Star Party will follow the banquet at the Tarleton Observatory East of Town.

The TSU Planetarium will be providing free shows during the conference. In addition, tours of undergraduate physics labs and student research tours of Tarleton's Astronomical Observatory, Ion Accelerator Laboratory, Scanning Electron Microscope Laboratory, will be offered.
Physics and Physical Science Teacher Workshops
A program of hands-on AAPT workshops for physics and physical science teachers will be presented during the meeting.

Food in Room 103/104 at 7:00 Followed by LAN Party till 11:00 or Everyone Goes Home

STEM Career Discussion Panel for Students (Friday 11:00 AM)
A panel discussion where professionals in various STEM fields will describe how they entered their chosen field and answer questions from students about various STEM careers and the education required.
AAPT Student Competition
To be eligible for the AAPT student competition, the student must be either an undergraduate or high school student presenting a talk in an SPS session or a graduate students presenting a physics education talk in an AAPT session.
