Can I request Tuition Assistance (TA) from Go Army Ed and use my Montgomery GI Bill?

No.  You can only request Tuition Assistance or use your Montgomery GI Bill.  You may not use both simultaneously.

How do I request Tuition Assistance in Go Army Ed?

  1. Log into www.earmyu.com
  2. Click on “My Virtual Education Center”
  3. Click Enroll or Drop/Withdraw from a Course
  4. Click “Request TA and Enroll in a Course”
  5. Review your account information
  6. Click “Continue”
  7. Select the term for your class start date
  8. Click the “Add Classes” link
  9. Click on “Class Search”
  10. Fill in the fields to search for the Course Schedule (ie..Tarleton; Subject)
  11. The Class Search Results screen displays the courses that meet your search criteria
  12. Click the “Class Details” button before enrolling to review more course information
  13. To complete the enrollment, Click the checkmark next to the class number
  14. The class number now appears on the Add Classes screen
  15. Click “Next”
  16. The Enrollment Request Information screen displays with class cost information.  Ensure you review the class cost covered by TA and any class cost that you must self-pay.  Click “Process Enrollment”
  17. The View My Class Schedule screen displays.  Review your schedule to ensure accuracy.  Review if TA covers the entire cost of the class, what TA does not cover, you will be responsible for and billed directly from the school
  18. Once the Enrollment Status column shows “Enrolled”, your enrollment is submitted successfully for registration, pending final approval from the college

Do I have to attend the mandatory Go Army Ed briefing held at the Soldier Development Center?

Yes.  You will need to attend this mandatory briefing to fill out a Common Application for Go Army Ed.  You will also receive a Statement of Understanding which has to be signed by your Chain of Command.  Once this has been signed, you will visit with an Education Center Counselor to complete your Go Army Ed Registration Process.

How soon can I request Tuition Assistance (TA) before classes begins?

  • Registration through the Go Army Ed Portal for Tuition Assistance opens two (2) months prior to the first day of class.
