Bachelor of Science in Biology

The mission of the B.S. in Biology degree program is to provide students with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills required of a professional biologist, biology educator, or graduate student. This is provided by course and laboratory work and the opportunity for mentored research with faculty members.

The B.S. in Biology can be obtained with a General Support Area or one of several specific Support Areas including

  • Aquatic Ecology,
  • Environmental Biology,
  • Molecular Biology,
  • Wildlife Biology,
  • Life Science Teacher Certification, and
  • Science Teacher Certification.

These Support Areas serve as a recommended curriculum for students with specific interests or career goals.  Students, working with an advisor, may substitute courses within their degree plan in order to meet their specific needs.
