Academic Appeals
Student academic appeals in the Department of Communication Studies will follow the procedures listed below:
- The student will meet directly with the faculty member involved. They will attempt to resolve the dispute between them. A third party will be present if and only if both parties agree.
- If the student is unsatisfied they may appeal to the Department Head. The Department Head will require a written compliant, including all documentation of the disputed grade. The Department Head will form a committee of three (including the DH) to consider the appeal. The committee will interview the faculty, the student or request additional information from any party.
- If the student is unsatisfied with the decision of the committee they may appeal to the Dean of the College of Liberal and Fine Arts.
- If the student is unsatisfied with the decision of the Dean they may appeal to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
