TSMRI Research Fellowships Available

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Texas Social Media Research Institute is looking for fellows for its 2013-14 social media research program.

“Our inaugural fellowship class has been outstanding and we’re excited to add to the group of social media researchers this year,” said Dr. Credence Baker, TSMRI co-director.

TSMRI is based at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. The group provides research and training focused towards communication technology and social media for K-12 education, higher education, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.

The program is looking for applicants who are conducting or wish to conduct research on social media. TSMRI provides researchers and practitioners resources for discovery, both applied and scholarly. Fellows will work with TSMRI to connect social media to their research agendas.

Fellows will receive early access to The Journal of Social Media in Society, complimentary registration to the 2013 Social Media Conference and TSMRI workshops and a one-year membership to TSMRI. Fellowships are for one year (June 1 to May 31).

The deadline to sign up is April 22 and application in online at www.tinyurl.com/tsmrifellowapp.

“We wanted to offer opportunities to scholars wishing to study issues in social media,”   TSMRI executive director Jennifer Edwards said. “Helping foster social media research is one of our goals. It’s the R in TSMRI.”
