Scholarships

English graduate students are eligible for the following scholarships:

• First Time Graduate Student Scholarship

Amount: $500

Deadlines: December 1 for Spring, May 1 for Summer, and August 1 for Fall

Students must enroll in at least 6 hours of graduate courses and be a first time graduate student to be eligible.

• Dick Smith Graduate Scholarship

Amount: $3000 per year

Deadlines: February 15 for Fall and December 1 for Spring

Students must be a graduate student in the College of Science and Technology and the College of Liberal and Fine Arts. New graduate students must have a 3.2 undergraduate GPA and returning graduate students must have a 3.5 GPA. Students must enroll in at least 6 hours of graduate work.

• Flora H. Foust Graduate Scholarship

Amount: $1000 per year

Deadlines: February 15 for the Fall and December 1 for the Spring

Students must have a score of 1000 (verbal and quantitative) on the GRE exam and a GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify 

•  Davidson Presidential Scholarship

Amount: $1000 - $2000 per year

Deadlines: February 15 for Fall and December 1 for Spring

Students must maintain a 3.0 overall and Tarleton GPA to be eligible. Full-time Tarleton undergraduates, graduates, and doctoral students can apply for award.
