Letter to School Administrators

June 13, 2012

Dear School Administrator:

TMATE, Tarleton Model for Accelerated Teacher Education, has interns who could possibly fill your teaching vacancies. Each intern has been carefully screened, is undergoing 10 weeks of intensive face-to-face preparation and will be eligible to teach on a Probationary Certificate for 2012-2013.

A list, Interns Available for Employment, is provided on the right hand column. You may directly contact any intern. Background information and references may be obtained by emailing tmate@tarleton.edu or by contacting the appropriate coordinator:

•    TMATE SW Metroplex:  Dr. Randy Ford    817-732-7300
•    TMATE Killeen:  Dr. Jan Parham    254-526-4164

TMATE interns meet the criteria for Highly Qualified Teachers. Interns are prepared to
•    Teach for student achievement
•    Employ effective teaching strategies and classroom management methods
•    Address the needs of English language learners

TMATE interns are
•    Supervised by TMATE faculty throughout the school year
•    Supported by an on-site mentor teacher
•    Connected to an online network of master teachers

Thank you for considering a TMATE intern. We look forward to working with you to staff your school with an effective teacher.

Sincerely,

Dr. Randy Ford, Coordinator, TMATE SW Metroplex
Dr. Jan Parham, Coordinator, TMATE Killeen
