About TREAT
T.R.E.A.T. is an equine assisted therapy program at Tarleton State University that uses horseback riding as a form of therapy. We provide physical, mental, and emotional therapy in a fun environment that makes our clients want to participate. Animal assisted activities improve self-confidence, self-awareness, and discipline. Equine assisted activity is an effective treatment for many types of disabilities. People with the following ailments respond best to equine assisted activity.
Autism
Cerebral Palsy
Head Injuries
Stroke
Emotional Disturbances
Developmental Delay
Spina Bifida
Scoliosis
Poliomyelitis
We are dedicated to providing quality equine assisted activities at a price anyone can afford. Treat rides cost $10 for a half hour session. Scholarships are available for people needing financial assistance.
Location
We are located in the Equine Center at the University's Farm in Stephenville, Texas. We offer T.R.E.A.T. rides from 3:00 - 5:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays.
