Degrees and Programs
Animal Science
Tarleton's animal science option provides a strong foundation in the scientific aspects (the "whys" and "hows") of animal production, nutrition, reproduction, anatomy and physiology. The degree has the option of a Biology minor with no additional courses required.
Pre-Veterinary Medicine Option: Students can complete the requirements for application to the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine Program while earning the Animal Science degree.
Animal Production
In this option, course work emphasizes the commercial rather than scientific aspects of livestock production.
Animal Industries
This degree is a unique combination of animal science courses and basic business courses needed have a strong educational foundation when graduates enter business enterprises related to animal agriculture. The degree has the option of a Business Administration minor with no additional courses required. More Info
Equine Emphasis Option: Students who wish to maximize their courses in the equine area may do so with a degree in Animal Production, Animal Industries, and Animal Science. For more information, visit our equine website.
Wildlife Management
The Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management prepares students for careers as wildlife biologists, natural resource managers, conservation biologists, game wardens, park rangers, park managers, wildlife disease specialists, and numerous other related careers.
