Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Consumer Sciences (Agricultural Science with Teacher Certification)
The Agricultural and Consumer Sciences teacher certification degree program has a long reputation of being one of the largest programs in the nation. For several years, we have certified more high school agricultural science teachers than any other university in the United States. The program is of high quality with a large number of Texas agricultural teachers having graduated from the program, and it has an excellent reputation with school administrators, as well as the agricultural industry.
Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Consumer Sciences (Agricultural Extension/Industry)
The extension and industry option is a broad-based agricultural degree program allowing the student to specialize in an area of agriculture or business. The degree program provides agricultural instruction in animal science, agronomy, agricultural engineering, horticulture, and sales and professional development through Agricultural Services & Development courses. The last semester of the program includes professional development training and a 10-week internship with a related business.
Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Consumer Sciences (Agricultural Communication)
The agricultural communication program in Agricultural and Consumer Sciences provides the student with both agricultural and communication skills. The program contains coursework in both the agricultural and communication fields. The last semester of the program includes professional development training and a 10-week internship with an agricultural communication-related business. Internships include placement with agricultural publications, radio stations, livestock organizations, commodity groups, and governmental agencies that provide communication opportunities.
