Grants and Scholarships
International Education Fee Scholarship
This scholarship is made available by a $4.00 student fee collected each semester. Students must be enrolled full-time the semester before their participation in an approved study abroad program, have a minimum GPA of 2.0; and be in good standing with the university. | Amount | Criteria |
| $2,000 | Full long fall or spring semester (minimum 12 weeks) |
| $1,600 | Full summer session (in country* time spans at least 8 weeks) |
| $1,200 | One summer session (in country* time spans at least 5 weeks) |
| $900 | Partial term (in country* time spans 3 weeks, but less than 5 weeks) |
| $500 | Partial Term (in country* time spans less than 3 weeks) |
| *In country time uses local time starting upon arrival at travel destination through departure from the travel destination. | |
Should the IEF scholarship disbursement/number of applicants exceed the available funds, applicants will be ranked using the following criteria:
- First, the number of hours completed at Tarleton, and
- Then, overall GPA.
Federal Pell Grant
Federal Pell Grant is awarded to exceptionally needy undergraduate students. Part-time enrollment reduces eligibility.
Federal Supplemental Educational Grant (SEOG)
Federal Supplemental Educational Grant (SEOG) is awarded to exceptionally needy undergraduate students. Must be enrolled at least half-time.
The National Security Education Program (NSEP)
The National Security Education Program (NSEP) and the Fulbright Program funded by the Federal government have grants and fellowships for undergraduate and graduate students for study and research overseas. Students should be aware that government organizations in other countries such as the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offer funding opportunities.
