Mission & Goals
Mission
Welcome to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), part of the Center for Global and Multicultural Initiatives (CGMI). Our mission is to create a campus environment that embraces diversity and encourages inclusion. This environment is fostered through leadership, education, training, and interaction in which all people can be creative, access opportunities, and reach their fullest potential. ODI wants to affirm and promote the value of diversity and inclusion through the cultivation of mutual respect, acceptance, and understanding.
Goals
Our goals are aligned with the Tarleton State University goals known as the "4 E's."
- Expand student horizons
- Encourage diversity awareness
- Excel through leadership
- Extend cultural boundaries
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion's overarching goal is to cultivate a strong tradition of a welcoming and inclusive campus;informed understanding of diverse groups, ways of life, and points of view;civil discourse characterized by mutual respect; and, an active global and multicultural awareness.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion has 4 major areas of emphasis in its service to the students, staff, and faculty:

- Programming
- Research/Grants
