Giving Opportunities

Why should you give?

There are many different ways to make a gift to Tarleton State University. You may give an unrestricted gift to be used where the need is greatest, or you may choose to support a program or college that is close to your heart, or you might endow a student scholarship!

Wherever you direct your gift, you'll be helping Tarleton make an impact on students, on the community, and on the world.

Annual Giving

Annual support from individuals, foundations, and corporations provide the margin of excellence that distinguishes great universities from good ones. These gifts help to bridge the gap between state support and Tarleton's annual operating budget.

Tarleton Fund

The Greater Tarleton Annual Fund (GTAF) is a yearly campaign designed to raise private funds for academic programs. Every year, thousands of alumni and friends give to Tarleton State University through the GTAF. These annual contributions have a direct and immediate impact on Tarleton students and programs providing support beyond that of public funding. Annual giving provides an organized, University approved process for alumni and friends to support academic excellence.

Scholarships

Because over 80% of Tarleton students receive some form of financial aid, scholarship funds play a critically important role in changing lives through education. Without these funds, a college education might not become reality for many students.

Endowed Gifts

Endowments are the financial foundation of a university. Rather than used for immediate needs, endowed funds are invested. The earnings on these investments provide a stable, ongoing source of funds for scholarships, professorships, operations, and other areas of campus life where there is a need. The goal is to use enough earnings to accomplish the purpose for which the endowment was created, while retaining a portion to allow for growth.

Gifts in Memory

No matter what their size, gifts to commemorate a family member, classmate, faculty member, or friend can be designated toward any existing fund, perhaps one to which the decedent directed gifts during his or her lifetime, or left to the discretion of the University.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Corporate matching gifts are a great way for Tarleton alumni, parents, and friends to maximize personal contributions to the University and increase the impact of their gift. By taking advantage of a company's gift benefit, you may be able to double or even triple the amount of the contribution.
