For Students - At the Command Prompt

1. Go to Start > Run
2. Type: cmd
3. You are now in a DOS command prompt.
4. Enter these commands at the prompts provided:
   • ftp www.tarleton.edu (and press Enter)
   • (It will ask for your username, so type that in and press Enter)
   • (It will ask for your password, so type that in and press Enter)
   • cd students/username (put your username)
   • Ls

You may now enter any FTP commands. Type HELP at the prompt to learn more.

In this process you have logged in to the www.tarleton.edu server, authenticated yourself, changed to your directory, and then listed the files within the directory (LS command.) The LS command is not necessary to this process, but it will show you if you have successfully logged in.
