Publishing Instructions for Students
Uploading or publishing your page means moving your files from your computer or disk to the Tarleton internet server where they are viewable online. When you publish files, you must transfer all HTM/HTML documents as well as any image files (JPG/JPEG/GIF/PNG/BMP) you have included in your pages.
There are many different choices to use when uploading your pages, and we will give step by step instructions for the most common ones below. Because the basic rules of FTP always apply, if you are using another software package you can probably infer how to use it by looking at these provided examples.
† The Windows/Internet Explorer method can be used on any computer that has Microsoft Windows. If using Word to create your web pages, use this method to upload/publish your files.
‡ This method, while slightly less user-friendly than the others is good to know, because it allows you to publish from virtually any Windows PC.
