What is a Texan Card?
The Texan Card is the name of the university’s identification card issued to students, faculty, staff, and others. It is a photo ID with a magnetic stripe, and is used for a variety of things, such as building access, entry into on-campus events, and Texan Bucks, a stored-value debit system for use on and off-campus.
How do I obtain my Texan Card?
Come to room 101 of the Tarleton Center on the main campus or the business office in Killeen and be ready to smile. The first card is free! Replacements for lost, stolen or damaged cards can be purchased for $10.00. Please come to the Texan Card Office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Your new Texan Card will automatically void the previous card.
What do I use my Texan Card for?
Your Texan Card gives you access to many Tarleton events and facilities. It is your admission to the Recreational Sports facility and to all athletic and fine arts events. You must present your card to receive services at the Student Health Center and the Game Room in the Thompson Student Center. If you live on campus, you will use your Texan Card to access your residence hall and your meal plan.
What is the Texan Bucks program?
Texan Bucks is a prepaid, stored-value account that’s part of your Texan Card. It is the convenient, cashless way to pay for purchases both on and off campus. The campus area’s most popular businesses accept Texan Bucks. Funds in your account at the end of a term will automatically carry forward to the next term. Cash withdrawals are not allowed. If you wish to close your account, you must submit a written request. Refunds are made by check and subject to a $15.00 withdrawal fee. Accounts dormant for a period of three (3) years will be remitted to the state.
How do I make a Texan Bucks deposit?
First, you must open a Texan Bucks account. You may do this by coming into the office or contacting us by phone. Once your account is open, there are several ways to add funds to your account.
- You can make a deposit online using a credit or debit card.
- You can come into the office with cash, credit card, debit card or check.
- You can call with a credit or debit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
- You can also deposit cash at our CSVT locations in the Thompson Student Center (in the Post Office), the Women’s Housing Complex lobby, the Library Lobby, and the student lounge on the Killeen campus.
