Co-Ed Cheer Squad
The Tarleton State University Cheerleaders pride themselves in being one of the most enthusiastic and outgoing groups at the University. They rank among Tarleton's most visible student organizations and feature a solid core of campus leaders.
The Tarleton Cheerleaders are active throughout the entire school year, attending and performing at all of the University's home athletic events while also traveling to many of the road contests. Additionally, the Tarleton Cheerleaders perform for those in attendance at the Traditions Rally, "Midnight Madness", pep rallies, and many of the homecoming activities.
Tarleton's Cheerleaders perform on the national level as well. The Tarleton cheerleaders travel to Daytona Beach, FL to compete in the NCA College Nationals. Over the past couple of years, Tarleton has done well, with a 6th and 8th place finishes. The Tarleton Cheerleaders compete at these events during the spring and summer semesters. A scholarship is awarded to every applicant who is chosen for membership in the Tarleton Cheerleading squad. In addition to scholarships, the Tarleton Cheerleaders also receive two hours physical education credit, which is transferable and applicable to most degree plans. They may also waive out of state tuition for all out of state students.
