We are excited to learn of your interest in Tarleton State University, home of the Texans! We are pleased that you have selected Tarleton to further your academic endeavors and to begin what will be an exciting experience. We have developed several programs to assist you in making the transition into university life. These programs are designed to inform you about the academic component as well as expose you to the various services available to you as a student.

This web site will provide you with information about the university's First Year Experience programs which include Texan orientation, Math and English Placement, the Learning Community Program, Duck Camp, AlcoholEdu and Texan 2 Texan. By participating in these programs, you will become familiar with your new academic surroundings, develop solid connections with the various facets of university life and connect with fellow students, faculty, and staff.

During Texan Orientation you will have the opportunity to become acquainted with the University, meet one-on-one with faculty and staff, become familiar with resources and register early for fall classes.

Designed to complement your orientation experience, Duck Camp will help you understand what being a Tarleton Texan really means. You will learn about the rich heritage and traditions of Tarleton while meeting new friends.

Texan 2 Texan will be held a few days prior to the star of fall classes. You'll become acquainted with your new campus and begin new friendships. This will be your official "welcome" into the Tarleton family.

These enriching experiences, in conjunction with other first year programs, will help set you on a course for a successful college career.
