Parent Orientation

We invite you to attend the Parent Orientation program and begin your active participation in the academic and social accomplishments of your student. Parents are sure to have many questions concerning the university their child will attend. From a university’s perspective, parent support and interest are critical to a student’s successful adjustment to university life. For these reasons, we offer a Parent Orientation program that runs concurrently with Texan Orientation.

This one-day program will introduce you to the many offices, services and academic programs at Tarleton. You will have the opportunity to visit with current Tarleton parents, ask questions about degree options, academic requirement advising and registration. Each session is designed to give you an understanding of the institution where your student will spend time and money over the next few years.

Please join us to learn more about Tarleton. The fee to attend Parent Orientation is $25.00 per family member. This fee covers materials, coffee breaks, all sessions and administrative costs.

If you choose to stay in town overnight, there are a number of hotels, with 50 or more rooms, available in Stephenville to accomodate your housing needs.

Important Points to Remember

    * Dress for all events is casual. Bring a jacket, some facilities are kept very cool.

    * Walking is involved on both days. Please bring comfortable shoes.

    * You and your student have separate itineraries, but will be together for a few sessions.

   

Reservations

June 19-20 Conference (Honors Orientation)

* Parents, whose student is eligible to attend the Honors Orientation, received a special invitation

* Parents, should complete the enclosed parent reservation form and return it to the Office of Student Activities with $25.00/guest to register for the conference

 

June 27, July 25, August 1 Conferences

* Students will register online via DuckTraz, Tarleton's user-friendly student web interface, for conference of their choice.

Reservations for each of the Parent Orientation sessions must be made at the time your student registers online for Texan Orientation. Once your student has registered for the conference of his/her choice, guests may not be added after the student's registration has been submitted. $25.00/guest will be assessed.
