Shanna Moody-Fitness/Wellness Coordinator

Shanna moved here from Gatesville, Texas where she was raised. She attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State Univ.), and graduated in 2000 with a cum laude Bachelors in Exercise Sports Science and a minor in Health and Wellness Promotion. After that she went to Texas Woman’s University in Denton, and later received her Master's degree in Exercise Physiology in 2006. Before completing her Masters degree, Shanna left to assume the position of Fitness Director for the City of Gatesville, while the Fitness Center was still under construction. This opportunity allowed her to get in from the beginning and mold the program. She worked there for 8 years and loved it!

Shanna decided to apply at Tarleton and after visiting campus for the first time knew she wanted to work here. She was so impressed with the school spirit, pride and tradition that was evident everywhere she turned on campus! Her fiancé, Jeremiah and son Cinch (age 6), moved here and Cinch is a 1st grader at Chamberlin Elementary. Jeremiah is a full time student at Tarleton. She is so proud of him as he has realized how important a degree is, and enrolled as a true freshman at the age of 33 (nearly twice the age of most of the freshman). As a family they all enjoy sports and especially Rodeo. Her son competes in youth rodeo and roping events, and she also does photography as a part time job and hobby.
