Lindsay Baker has pursued a career in museums and higher education for over
twenty-five years. The author of twenty books on American history, he has served
on the professional staffs at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum, the Fort
Worth Museum of Science and History, the Strecker Museum (Baylor University),
the Texas Heritage Museum (Hill College), and the W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial
History of Texas (Tarleton State University). He lives on a farmstead listed
on the National Register of Historic Places and has written or co-authored seventy-five
NRHP nominations.
LeAnna
Biles Schooley is Facilities Manager/Curator of the W. K. Gordon Center for
Industrial History of Texas at Thurber. In her more than fifteen years in the
field, LeAnna has held positions at the Daughters of the Republic of Texas Museum,
the Alexander Architectural Archive (University of Texas at Austin), and Fort
Stockton’s Annie Riggs Memorial Museum and Historic Fort Stockton. Ms.
Schooley is presently a member of the governing council of the Texas Association
of Museums. In addition, she is Vice President of the Texas Forts Trail Region,
an organization which promotes heritage tourism and education.
