RAD - Rape Aggression Defense
"To develop and enhance the options of self defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked."
In 1989, Lawrence N. Nadeau founded Rape Agression Defense (R.A.D.) Systems. He served as the organization's Executive Director until June of 1998, when he turned the organization over to four of his senior Female Staff Instructors.
Today, R.A.D. is a nationally recognized alliance of self-defense educators dedicated to enhancing defensive options for women and children, while developing their abilities to manage agressive behavior. R.A.D. is the largest organization of its kind and it is the only such organization ever enforced by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (I.A.C.L.E.A.)
R.A.D. is taught at Tarleton State University during the fall and spring semesters. The instructor is Sergeant Jonathan Hutson. There is no charge for this program but classes are limited in size. Therefore, students are encouraged to sign up early. To register for R.A.D., call Sergeant Hutson at 968-9776 or email him at jhutson@tarleton.edu.
