Tarleton State University, through the Texas A&M University System and Texas Education Agency, is participating in a project designed to develop and strengthen school-university partnerships. The P-16 Educational Improvement Consortia (PEIC) consists of Tarleton State University and selected public school campuses within the university’s service area. The project addresses the needs of identified campuses and will expand to include additional campuses in the future.

The purpose of the project is to create new partnerships and to continue existing partnerships between Tarleton State University and area school districts in an effort to improve student achievement.
The goals of the project are as follows:

  • Build collaborative partnerships
  • Provide professional services to area schools
  • Link internal university projects to area schools
  • Support novice teachers
  • Utilize data to improve instructional projects
  • Develop and implement strategies which support continuous school improvement
