Research Interests
Research interests include human metabolism, particularly in the areas of lipoprotein metabolism and assesmbly and the relationship to cardiovascular disease; cell signal transduction, particularly in the areas of lipid initiated signaling pathways and their relationship to cancer and Alzheimer's; cell membrane caveolar domains and the relationship of these regions to lipid import, export and cell signaling. Additional areas of specific research include the development of immunoassays for diagnostic medical purposes, and the development and evaluation of other diagnostic assays for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.

Other Information of Interest
Dr. Murray holds a board position on the American Society for Clinical Patholology (ASCP), Board of Registry, Molecular Pathology Examination Committee. In that capacity she contributes to the national certifcation examination for Molecular Pathology. Dr. Murray holds two certifications with the ASCP, the MT(ASCP) as a generalist medical technologist and SC(ASCP) as a specialist in diagnostic clinical chemistry. In addition she holds one certification from the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) for the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, the CLS(NCA) as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
Dr. Murray also holds a board position in the Texas
Association for Clinical Laboratory Science as the Commissioner on Goverance.
Dr. Murray and family are proprietors of Liatris Ranch.
