The
Central Texas facility of Tarleton State University is located in Killeen,
TX.
Tarleton Central Texas (TCT) was born in the spirit of community cooperation
on Sept. 1, 1999, becoming the newest member of The Texas A&M University
System as a part of Tarleton State University's multiple outreach programs.
Tarleton - Central Texas is an upper-level institution offering bachelor's
and master's degrees.
The student population at TCTs is diverse and growing, having surpassed
1,700 students in the 2002 spring semester. Students include community
college graduates and transfer students, working adults, active military
service members, and returning students who are pursuing degrees, fulfilling
career educational requirements, or attending classes for personal enrichment.
As a result, classes are offered at several convenient sites, including
Temple College, in order to accommodate both full- and part-time students
and serve the entire Central Texas area. Full-time faculty, advisors and
support staff are available to assist students with admission, financial
aid, degree plans and career planning, both during the day and during
extended evening hours.
TCT offers undergraduate degrees in Applied Science, Accounting, Aviation
Science, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer
Science, Criminal Justice, Education, History, Liberal Studies, Mathematics,
Nursing (RN to BSN), Political Science, Psychology, and Social Work. Graduate
degrees are available in Business Administration, Counseling, Counseling
Psychology, Criminal Justice, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational
Administration, Educational Psychology, History, Human Resource Management,
Information Systems, Liberal Studies, Management, and Mathematics.
The Master of Science in Information Systems (MS-IS)
is offered at Central Texas utilizing a combination of face-to-face
and online courses. Most face-to-face graduate CIS courses meet
two night per week from 6:00pm to 7:15pm, 7:30pm to 8:45pm, or 9:00pm
to 10:15pm.
Students enrolled in the MS-IS program at Central Texas bring various
backgrounds and experiences to the classroom. This variety of experiences
helps provide an active learning environment for students. |

All of the face-to-face graduate CIS courses meet in the TCT Building.
A few courses are taught in traditional classrooms. However, most of the
courses meet regularly in the TCT computer labs.
