The Microsoft Campus Agreement allows the University to provide Microsoft product licensing for all University- owned computers. A list of covered products is provided below for reference. The Agreement allows for users/departments to have a local copy of the software installed on their computers.
An additional feature of the Agreement is the ability for University staff and faculty to use a licensed copy of the Microsoft products listed below on their personally- owned home computer or portable computer if that computer is used to perform University work. Use of the licensed copy will be available to faculty and staff throughout the duration of the University's agreement with Microsoft.
Products are licensed based on a yearly contract between Information Resources and Microsoft and must be renegotiated each year. If Information Resources does not renew the license the software will no longer be licensed and must be removed or the user/department will be in violation of the software license and subject to laws and regulations governing software piracy.
Covered Products:
- MS Office Standard or Professional
- MS FrontPage
- MS Visual Studio Professional
Eligibility: Faculty/Staff members performing University work at home may install covered products on one personally owned home or portable computer if the software is also installed on the primary work computer. This software must be removed upon either the termination/expiration of the Campus Agreement or of the termination of the Faculty/Staff employment at the University.
Faculty/Staff must present a Tarleton State University ID in order to obtain software. A signed Faculty/Staff verification form must be completed indicating agreement to the terms and restrictions of the Campus Agreement. Only one copy of each eligible software title may be obtained. Please contact Information Resources at x9885 for information on how to obtain software under the Microsoft Campus Agreement.
