Help Desk Wireless

The Department of Information Resources is pleased to announce the completion of the first phase of wireless computer network access on the Tarleton State University Campus.

Wireless access points are located in the following buildings on the Stephenville campus:

The Killeen campus has wireless access in the Tarleton Central Texas main building. Due to the nature of broadcasted signals , not all areas in all buildings are covered.

Access to the Tarleton State University wireless network is controlled by software from Bluesocket. The Bluesocket gateway validates that you are a valid member of the Tarleton user community. You do not need any special software to access the Bluesocket gateway from your wireless device. You will need a web browser.

To access the Tarleton wireless network from one of the campus locations, follow these steps:

Turn on your wireless device and check to see if you are associated with an access point.
The access points are set to broadcast with the name of building as the wireless network name (with the exception of a few legacy locations).
When you have verified you have an association, bring up a web browser on the device. You will be automatically redirected to the Bluesocket gateway. You may be asked to accept a security certificate.
Accept the certificate.
A login panel will be displayed on the left side of your browser. Enter your username and password in the locations provided just as you would when logging on to the wired network. In a few seconds, you will be directed to your default home page.

You do not need to keep your browser open once you are logged on. You are now on the Tarleton Unwired network. If you need assistance, please call the Help Desk at (254)968-9885.
