The VPN Client program allows your computer to access Tarleton's Network Resources though the Internet.  This has several benefits including connecting  to the Library Databases, accessing your H: Drive and many more.

The VPN Client also  provides a level of security using Virtual Private Networking to encrypt all traffic to and from the TSU network.

Note:

Tarleton no longer allows Telnet or FTP Connections from Third-Party ISP's (Internet Service Providers).  A secure connection though VPN is required to use Telnet or FTP.

Notes:

Caution: Installing the TSU VPN Client software on Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP requires Administrator privileges. If you do not have Administrator privileges, you must have someone with Administrator privileges install the product for you.

The latest operating system service packs and security updates must be downloaded and installed prior to installing and using the TSU VPN  Client.

Version 3.1.1 is the first version put into production use for all TSU VPN users globally, and includes both the 56-bit and 128-bit encryption. This means that it can be used all over the world, as long as you can get a connection to the internet.

Client install requires system reboot.

You must be connected to a network OTHER THAN TarletonStateUniversity’s.
