Connecting to your H: Drive

Setup Instructions for Windows ME

1.      Make sure that you have followed the setup instructions for your Tarleton dial-up.

2.    Click Start> Settings> Control Panel> Network.  Under the Configuration tab, choose “Client for Microsoft Networks” and click the Properties button.

3.  Check the box “Log on to Windows NT domain” and type in “NTNET” for the domain in the blank text box.  Click the OK button.

4.  Click the “Identification” tab.  Change the Computer name to your st_username.  Click the OK button.  You may have to reboot.

5.      This will logon to the domain when you dial-up and may request your username and password twice, once for establishing dial-up and once for network connection.  This should map the H: drive.  If no H: drive appears in My Computer, you can type a direct path to the direct location using the following step:

Click Start> Run and type \\store01\ followed by your st_username and click OK.

Unless you reboot, subsequent dial-up sessions will request your username and password only once, for dial-up.  The network connection will be reestablished using the username and password supplied previously.  Therefore if you share a computer it is recommended that you always reboot the machine after you dial-up session to prevent others from having access to you network folders.
