All faculty, staff and students are required to reset their e-mail/NTNET account password every 120 days for security reasons per the Texas Administrative Code 202.75 - Information Resources Security Safeguards.  Multiple reminders are sent to account holders in advance of the password expiration date. The first reminder is sent two weeks prior to the expiration date.  The next reminders are sent every 3rd day until 3 days prior to the expiration.  If the password still has not been reset 3 days prior to the expiration, a reminder is sent every day for the remaining three days.

To reset a password prior to its expiration, the owner of the account can reset the password via the web at www.tarleton.edu/password.  If the reminders are missed and the password expires, it can be reset by the account owner if he/she remembers the expired password using the form at www.tarleton.edu/password and entering the expired password in the “Current Password” field. However, if the password expires and is not remembered it must be reset by authorized Information Resources personnel after verifying the identity of the requestor.

We have made an effort to make the password reset process reasonably convenient by offering multiple locations where the password can be reset both in Stephenville and at the Killeen campus computer lab. For those who are unable to visit one of our reset locations, we do permit a facsimile or scanned image of the requestor’s photo identification as a substitute for presenting identification in person.  For the security of individuals and to protect his/her personal information, we do not archive faxes or imaged photos we receive. Please contact the Help Desk at 254.968.9885 if you need assistance with your password.
