The College of Graduate Studies advises students seeking a Master of Science in Liberal Studies. The Master of Science with a major in Liberal Studies requires 36 semester hours of graduate study. The MSLS is offered to students who desire some freedom in choosing to combine areas of study which support a specific but personal goal or career path. The student seeking the MSLS will submit for the Graduate Dean’s approval, a written statement outlining the identified theme or purpose of their program proposal. This includes personal or career goal and the courses to be selected for the Emphasis or Concentration area(s) as well as the electives. The student must meet academic requirements set by the University for a Master of Science degree. The student must make a choice between two academic tracks which meet University requirements: they are an Emphasis Option or or a Dual Concentration Option. Departments may require some prerequisite courses for the area of emphasis or for the concentrations in a field of study. In both degree tracks, selected courses in some disciplines may not be available for this degree for reasons of licensure or certification. For more information contact the College of Graduate Studies. |
