CLASS POLICY

.

CLASS ATTENDANCE

Class attendance is extremely important, especially in courses dealing with technical information and skills.

MISSED EXAMS

Any exam missed due to an unexcused absence will be recorded as a zero.

Any exam missed during an excused absence must be taken before the next meeting of the class unless prior arrangements are made with the instructor.

It is the student’s responsibility to schedule the make-up exam, not the instructor’s.

ASSIGNMENTS

All assignments will be due the following week unless specified by the instructor.

MAKE-UP WORK

It is the responsibility of the student to make up all work missed due to excused absences within one week of it’s original due date.

LATE WORK

Five points will be deducted from the grade for each weekday after the due date unless previous arrangements have been made with the instructor.
No work will be accepted if it is turned in more than two weeks after the due date unless previous arrangements have been made with the instructor.

ACADEMIC CONDUCT

Each student is expected to do his/her own work independently. Any Incident of Academic Dishonesty will be reported to the Head of the Engineering Technology Department and to the Dean of Students. Academic Dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, cheating on an examination or academic work, plagiarism, collusion, unauthorized use of technology, coping drawing files from on student to another or unauthorized collaboration between student that is deemed excessive by the instructor, i.e., two students doing one drawing and handing it in with different names. Appropriate sanctions, both University and Academic, will be applied for each incident of dishonesty. A copy of the University policy and possible sanctions is available in the Student Handbook and the departmental office.

LEARNING DISABILITY

Students who think that they may have a learning disability should contact Dwayne Snider at 9373 who is the ADA compliance officer for Tarleton State University before any class modification is granted. He is located in the office of Academic Affairs before any class modification is granted
