Greetings from the Department of Engineering and Physics
at Tarleton State University!
Our department offers a rigorous educational environment centered on student learning with the one-on-one mentoring of a prestigious private institution and the facilities and research equipment of a large research institution. We also offer a diverse set of undergraduate programs including unique programs like hydrology, environmental engineering, and an ABET accredited Engineering Physics program that are not typically found at other institutions. A degree from our department can be the key to your unlocking the door to an exciting career in physics, medicine, dentistry, engineering, computer science, or other technical field so that you can truly be whatever you desire to be. At Tarleton, you don’t have to wait to be a graduate student to do real research. Our students have the opportunity to do it every day. Through the wide ranging research interests of our enthusiastic faculty and state-of-the-art research facilities, the education of our students is enriched with unique hands-on-educational opportunities.
These opportunities are further enhanced through internships with area industry partners and NSF-funded summer research experiences. If you look at the partial list of our graduates on our website, you will see that our graduates have been successful in finding employment in a wide range of fields as well going on to pursue either medical degrees or doctorates from many of the nation’s outstanding graduate institutions including Stanford, Rice, and Purdue.
