Education Lab Hours:

Monday-Friday 8 am-12 pm and 1-5 pm. The lab is available to all TSU students unless there is a scheduled or reserved lab in session.

Course Information:

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with technology on a broad scale and expose students to emerging technologies and state and national competiciencies. During the course students make frequent decisions on how to utilize and integrate technology into future classroom situations. Assignments done during and outside of class time should be considered part of the overall instruction for the course and relevant to the Texas Technology Application Standards.

Objectives:
Briefly stated, the course objectives are for you to:

  1. Use technology-related terms, concepts, data input strategies, and ethical practices to make informed decisions about current technologies and their applications.
  2. Identify task requirements, apply search strategies, and use current technology to efficiently acquire, analyze, and evaluate a variety of electronic information.
  3. Use task-appropriate tools to synthesize knowledge, create and modify solutions, and evaluate results in a way that supports the work of individuals and groups in problem-solving situations.
  4. Communicate information in different formats and for diverse audiences.
  5. Understand how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) into the curriculum.
Grading:

There will be seven assignments. 

Each assignment is worth a certain number of points (see below for points assigned to each assignment). You may earn a maximum of 1000 points for this lab. This lab will count as 20% of your EDU 3303 course grade.

Assignment # 1 = 50 points
Assignment # 2 = 200 points
Assignment # 3 = 100 points
Assignment # 4 = 100 points
Assignment # 5 = 100 points
Assignment # 6 = 200 points
Assignment # 7 = 250 points
Total Points = 1000

Criteria for grading an assignment is described in each assignment. Refer to the PD 1 Homepage for your lab grades or see your instructor. 

If you did not turn in an assignment on time and did not contact your instructor prior to the due date, you will receive a zero.*

*Late assignments may be accepted with a valid and verifiable university excused absence . It is the responsibility of the student to contact his/her instructor prior to the scheduled lab period to inform him/her of the excused absence. Students with a university excused absence will have 6 days from the due date to complete and submit the assignment.

Attendance Policy:

Regular class attendance is expected.  If you miss lab, it is your responsibility to attend one of the other sessions taught by your instructor that week to make up the work.  Please inform the instructor of the lab you are visiting so we can mark your attendance and give credit for assignments.
 

Academic Dishonesty:

Tarleton State University expects its students to maintain high standards of personal and scholarly conduct. Students guilty of academic dishonesty are subject to disciplinary action. Academic dishonesty includes, but is not limited to, cheating on an examination or other academic work, plagiarism, collusion, and the abuse of resource materials. The faculty member is responsible for initiating action for each case of academic dishonesty that occurs in his/her class.
