Welcome to the website for the College of Liberal and Fine Arts (COLFA) at Tarleton State University.
I am Dr. Dean A. Minix, Dean of the College. My teaching career began in 1977 with my first teaching assignment at Campbell University in North Carolina. In 1985, I joined the faculty at the University of Houston-Downtown, and was Chair of the Department of Social Sciences. I joined the faculty at Northern Kentucky University in 2000 where I was Department Chair of Political Science and Criminal Justice, and later, MPA Director.
I am a Political Scientist with interests in U. S. Foreign Policy, International Terrorism, War in the Modern World, and Homeland Security Issues. I have traveled, studied, and taught in many different lands: Canada, Mexico, England, France, Germany, China, Egypt, and Iraq to name a few.
