Applying for a Professional Certificate - NCELP
* These are not the instructions to apply for a probationary certificate!
Students must meet all
university and program requirements, submit a copy of their service record to
the
Certification Office, and the
Certification Office must verify the following before a student will be
recommended
for certification online:
Successful in passing all ExCET/TExES
tests required
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Required degree for certificate is
conferred
Completion of all course work on
Certificate Plan - a request is sent to an advisor in the appropriate
area to evaluate each applicants'
completion of the program
How to Apply:
To apply online go to Web Site
www.sbec.state.tx.us and click on
“Online Services for
Educators.” You will then be asked
to either create a new account with SBEC or log in
if you already have an account. Once
you have logged in, click on "Applications" on the
left side of the screen and choose
"Standard Certification" even though you are
applying for a professional
certificate.
When asked for recommending
entity, choose 'Tarleton State University - Alternative'.
When asked for subject applying
for, type in NCELP.

Letters of Completion:
SBEC will e-mail you a letter
acknowledging receipt of your online application for
certification and another e-mail will
be sent to you when Tarleton State University
has recommended you online for your
certificate.
SBEC may change the application
process at any time. Please use these instructions
as a guideline only.
