Disability Services
Disability: A person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities (References: TAM I-2.2, TAM II-2.1000, TAM III-2.1000)
Physical impairment: "Any physiological disorder or condition, cosmetic disfigurement, or anatomical loss affecting one or more of the following body systems: neurological, musculoskeletal, special sense organs, respiratory (including speech organs), cardiovascular, reproductive, digestive, genitourinary, hemic and lymphatic, skin, and endocrine".
A mental impairment: "[a]ny mental or psychological disorder, such as mental retardation, organic brain syndrome, emotional or mental illness, and specific learning disabilities." References: TAM I-2.2(a)(i), TAM II-2.2000, TAM III-2.2000, 28 CFR 35.104
