Dr. Talbani received his PhD (Education Policy Studies) from McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He obtained his Master's degrees from University of Karachi (Literature), University of London (Comparative and International Education), and McGill University (Religious Studies).
He has certificates in Teacher Education and miniMBA in non-profit management. He attended the United States ' Department of Education's Institutes on Technology in Education, Professional Development Training, and Grant Writing.
Dr. Talbani has taught at various institutions of higher education in Canada and the USA . He taught at the Teachers College, Columbia University and Concordia University , Montreal as an adjunct professor, and at the University of St. Thomas and University of Memphis as Assistant Professor. At University of Memphis , he was coordinator of Foundations and Policy Studies Concentration. He also coordinated selected Title I schools in East Tennessee and Memphis , and led the efforts for school-wide reforms. As a program director at International Leadership Academy , he developed strategic plan and curricula for leadership education and training programs. He has extensive experience of developing and implementing educational programs in developing societies.
He taught in the fields of teacher education and educational leadership. His areas of expertise are diversity/multicultural education, postmodernism, foundations of education, educational leadership, women's education, education and community, curriculum theory and development, technology and education
Dr. Talbani is author of numerous peer reviewed publications and presentations. He advised scores of Masters and PhD students and mentored numerous educational leadership and teacher education students.
Dr. Talbani has been engaged in community and institutional services. He is a member of several professional organizations. He has served as a member of the team for institutional reviews, a reviewer of manuscripts for educational research journals and for peer reviewed conference presentations. He was member of the faculty Senate at the University of Memphis for two terms, Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and Student Advisor, Diversity Committee, and international committees at Memphis and at St. Thomas. Dr. Talbani offers workshops and speeches to community and professional organizations. |
