Choose a song that is well known.  Refer to the song list link for ideas if needed.  No one will be allowed to repeat a song already done, so have an alternate in case someone uses your song before you.  The song will be taught to the other members of the class using hand signs and solfege only.  Do not reveal the name of the song.  No accompanying instruments will be allowed.

The "children" will sing the song using solfege syllables as they learn the song.

Students will not need song sheets or to look at music in the songbooks as they will be learning the song based on the hand signs alone.  They will be "reading the music from your hands."

Rhythmic values will be derived from the speed and pauses of your hand signs.

The "children" will be asked at the end of the session to identify the song.

Use enough vertical space to indicate appropriate change in pitch

Try to be as accurate with note lengths as possible

Go slowly enough to be rhythmically accurate
