Course Objectives:

1. To understand concepts and principals of ecology as applied to the study of inland waters.
2. To gain an appreciation for human impact on freshwater ecosystems.
3. To apply methods of limnological field investigation to assess the environmental quality of lakes and streams.
4. To gain experience in data analysis and presentation of results in standard scientific format.

Lab:

Comparative studies will be conducted on area reservoirs and streams with emphasis on determining the effects of organic loading on physiochemical factors and community structure.  Lab data is presented as a research paper.
